DUO BRANDL–RESSLE

Florian Brandl trumpet

Josef Ressle piano

Florian Brandl and Josef Ressle form a purely acoustic duo playing energetic and expressive jazz of their own color. They leave a lot of space for spontaneous interaction, knowing each other well from having worked together in Florian Brandls quartet for years. Concentrating mainly on original material they incorporate individually arranged jazz standards and completely free passages without net and double bottom using their wide horizon from classical music to jazz and pop.

Florian BRANDL Solo

Florian Brandl

trumpet, electronic instruments

Due to the Corona pandemic I finally found the time and patience to realize a one man live solo act, a wish I had carried around for a long time. Synthesizer, drum machine, loop station, effects and electric piano enrich my playing on the trumpet with a modern, technoid sound. A certain beat of the drum machine and a sequence of the synthesizer are the centre most of the time—based upon that I'm building up melodic loops with the trumpet etc. while allowing lots of space for spontaneity and improvisation.

Working mostly in huge ensembles and as a sideman I appreciate flexible opportunities for live gigs with that solo format and I take the chance to let the music flow in my own distinct voice.
